CARLO ALESSI

Carlo Alessi continued the activity of his father Giovanni who in 1921 began the production of utensils and plates made of nickel, aluminum and silver plated brass. Born in 1916, the young Carlo, after having completed his studies dedicated to technical drawing at the OMAR Institute in Novara, entered the company where in the 1950s became General Manager collaborating with famous designers such as Luigi Massoni, Richard Sapper and Achille Castiglioni. Alessi has become a company at international level and has been using increasingly stainless steel for its productions. Carlo Alessi, who died in 2009, has designed several objects including the series 'Octagonal', 'Steps', 'Cylindrical' and the famous 'Bombé'.
