The architect and designer Gianfranco Frattini was born in Padua on May 15, 1926, and in 1953 he graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. Also in Milan he opened his professional studio, after working for a period with his teacher and mentor Gio Ponti, thanks to which he also began his collaboration with Cesare Cassina, another point of reference. In his career he is more dedicated to interior design and industrial design and works with important companies in the sector such as Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide, Luci, Knoll, Lema and many others. In 1956 he was one of the founders of the ADI, Association for Industrial Design. He died in Milan on 6 April 2004.
